Written Among The Stars

My apartment complex was on the news last night, and not in a good way. It was a very nervewracking evening. I came home to find the entire complex surrounded by police with lights on, and one road shut down. I pull through the parking lot and right next door to my building I see police tape and an abandoned car just sitting there.

My husband was home all afternoon so I asked what was going on, he wasn't sure but thought he had heard an argument and gunshots earlier.

Got the whole story from the news. Police tried to confront a gentlemen who was walking around a trailer park near the high school with a rifle (or shotgun), a woman had told them he had approached her and shoved it in her face screaming at her. They confronted him but he eluded them. They were in the area serving a warrant.

Later in the day there were reports of an armed man in MY parking lot, believed to be the same individual that eluded police earlier.Shots were exchanged between him and the police and then he took off running into the complex stole one of our maintenance golf carts. Drove to another complex and carjacked a woman, before finally abandoning that car a few miles away. So we had the police helicopter and at least a half dozen police officers searching the place for hours with guns drawn looking for this guy.

I did not sleep well.
